These performances of MATTY were performed at the lovely Canyon Theatre Guild Playhouse in downtown Newhall just north of Los Angeles. Proceeds benefitted the Santa Clarita Food Pantry. Over $1500 in funds were raised to help those in need in the Santa Clarita Valley! THANK YOU to the Canyon Theatre Guild and Eddie Frierson! Christy Mathewson continues to touch lives more than 80 years after his passing. Remarkable. Performances were at 8pm both evenings and were attend by a very large walk-up audience! Several hundred enjoyed the weekend. It was great fun for the whole family!

MATTY traveled to Texas for the third time in a year! This special mid-week performance was for the entire family and was part of a wonderful international student program sponsored by the State Department and Texas A&M University. Special thanks to Dr. Gregg Bennett. The show was in a wonderful theatre space off campus in Bryan, Texas located at the Bryan High School.

This was a return to Christy Mathewson’s hometown of Factoryville, Pennsylvania for “CHRISTY MATHEWSON DAYS 2008.” Matty (Eddie Frierson) threw out the first pitch at the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees vs. Pawtucket Red Sox AAA game on Thursday the 7th. There was be a Friday evening performance at 7pm, Big 6k run on Saturday with breakfast on the green and the annual Mathewson Day Parade! Plan your visit for 2010 when MATTY will return to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. Drive a few miles northwest on highway BIG 6 and join in on all the fun! Contact Keytsone for more details!

MATTY had hoped to be traveling to Arizona as a fabulous fund raiser for one of the world’s premier high school drama coaches and to support the International Thespian Society Troupe 6990! Danna Doyle invited Eddie Frierson to perform at Chino Valley High School in Chino Valley, Arizona to help raise funds to give her students and the troupe some of the funds they need to bring their theatrical programs to the next level! But funding was unavailable to kick off the event and Danna has now moved to the next phase of her career. We hope to work with her in the future!
